Alumni Spotlight #3

With college baseball underway, we are proud to bring back our “Alumni Spotlight” series.
This series highlights standout performances from our former New England Scorpions players at their current colleges and universities.

In the past six years, we have had 70 New England Scorpions players commit to play college baseball. These players attend over 40 institutions across the country. We are proud of every player and look forward to following their hard work each week.

This week‘s spotlight belongs to three former players:


1.  AJ Guindon 
- OF:  Wheaton College (So.)

*** AJ Guindon is a 2020 graduate from Bishop Hendricken.  Guindon played 3 years with the NE Scorps and committed to Wheaton College through the Scorpions program.  AJ has played in 21 games for the Lyons and has recorded 106 plate appearances.  He is currently batting .287 with 25 Hits - 7 Doubles - 1 Triple - 14 RBI - 19 Runs - 15 Walks.  He also has a .404 on-base percentage.  AJ’s season highlight came on March 31st when he recorded three hits with a triple and a RBI.  


2.  Sean Helfrich
- OF:  Rhode Island College (So.)

*** Sean Helfrich is a 2019 graduate from La Salle Academy.  Helfrich played one year with the NE Scorps and is currently in his second season with Rhode Island College.  Sean has started 16 games this season for the Anchormen and has recorded 60 at bats.  He is batting .300 with 18 Hits - 5 Home Runs - 18 RBI - 3 Doubles - 14 Runs.  His season highlight came on March 23rd when he hit a grand slam.


3.  London Camelo
- C:  Roger Williams University (So.)

*** London Camelo is a 2020 graduate from Mt. Hope HS.  Camelo played 3 years with the NE Scorps and committed to Roger Williams University through the Scorpions program.  London is currently batting .500 for the Hawks with 3 doubles, a triple, and 7 RBI’s.  His season highlight came on March 29th when he went 5-5 at the plate with a double, stolen base, and 5 RBI’s.
