Cody Ortega
Coach Ortega is entering his 11th year as the Owner/Director & Recruiting Coordinator for the New England Scorpions. In his time as Director/Owner, Ortega has had 110+ high school players commit to various Colleges/Universities across the country (Notre Dame, Houston, Boston College, Harvard, UCONN, Pitt & more). He has also had three Major League Baseball draft picks: Ben Sears(14th Rd selection in the 2022 MLB Draft by the Kansas City Royals), Ryan Andrade (7th Rd selection in the 2024 MLB Draft by the Tampa Bay Rays), and Caleb Leys (4th Rd selection in the 2025 MLB Draft by the Detroit Tigers).

The Scorpions New England program has championship wins, such as Perfect Game (FL), Perfect Game WWBA New England, Perfect Game Select (NY) and Perfect Game World Series (MA). The program has also seen numerous #1 Regional rankings, while also having teams ranked top 100 in the country by Perfect Game.
Prior to Ortega becoming the Owner/Director of the New England Scorpions, he served as an assistant coach for the Community College of Rhode Island. At CCRI he served as their national recruiting coordinator/hitting & infielders coach. He helped the Knights finish second in the country in hitting and third in the country in fielding percentage. It was the highest ranking in CCRI Knights history. Ortega also assisted at the University of Rhode Island with camps & showcases.
Joseph Casalino
Joe Casalino runs our Scorpions Youth Development program. Scorps YD serves to help develop players ages 7-9 years old, and also serves as a feeder system to our travel programs (9U-17U).

Casalino was the pitchers/catchers coach on two RI State Middle School Baseball Championship teams, a 12U NEAAU Super Division Championship team, and a 13U NEAAU Diamond Division Championship team. Dr. Joe is also a practicing chiropractor with more than 30 years experience evaluating and treating thousands of athletes of all ages. He has clinics in Barrington, Providence, Fall River and New Bedford.
