Why play with the New England Scorpions Baseball Organization?
How are we different from your current AAU club?
What we are…what we are not…
1. The Scorpions Baseball Club is NOT another local AAU group. We were founded in 1994 and are a National Baseball Organization with affiliates throughout the country, including us being the New England affiliate. The Scorpions are generally considered one of the top Youth Travel and College Showcase Baseball Organizations in our country as is evident by decades of developing many hundreds of college commitments, MLB draft picks, and MLB players
2. Our Youth Team (9U-12U) Head Coaches are well paid Non-Parents, mature professionals, highly qualified and experienced, fair and objective. Our College Showcase Head Coaches(13U-17U) are past College baseball players and/or coaches with proven track records.
3. Our staff of instructors that work with our teams are all current or past college coaches and/or players
4. Our Youth Teams are NOT comprised of players from just one or two towns. Our youth teams are comprised of top players from all throughout RI and SE Mass. Our College Showcase teams are comprised of players from all throughout New England.
5. Some of our youth teams play in NEAAU and the others play Tournaments. This is decided based upon a team’s roster and which approach will give those players the greatest benefit
6. Although we field competitive teams at all ages, our #1 organizational goal is NOT just to win games but to DEVELOP our players physically, mentally and emotionally. We develop their baseball skills but more importantly develop them into young men who carry themselves with poise and maturity on and off the field.
7. The 2024 Providence Journal Rhode Island High School Baseball All-State team named 12 player, 5 of those players are Scorpions players. That is simply a reflection of our ability to develop talent.
8. Starting at 13U, our top youth players go on to play in our SCORPIONS NEW ENGLAND COLLEGE SHOWCASE PROGRAM. Our Scorpions Showcase coaches are non-parents, well-paid professionals who have played college baseball. Many are current college baseball coaches as well.
9. Proof of our College Showcase player development competence:
- In the past 9 years, over 100 New England Scorpion players have committed to play college baseball through our development and guidance. Many of these players began in our Scorps Youth Development program at 8-9 years of age. Our Commitments include the University of Notre Dame, the University of Houston, Bryant University, the University of RI, the University of South Florida, University of Pittsburgh, Boston College, James Maddison, Harvard, UCONN, UMaine, University of Alabama-Birmingham etc..
- In the past three years, two of our Scorpions New England players have been drafted into the MLB: Ben Sears (KC Royals) & Ryan Andrade (Tampa Bay Rays).
