Alumni Spotlight

With the 2026 college baseball season underway, our “Alumni Spotlight” series has been released. This series highlights standout performances from our former New England Scorpions players at their current College/University or Professional team.

In the past 10 years, 128 New England Scorpions players have committed to play college baseball at 76 institutions across the country. We've also been blessed to see three Scorpions selected in the MLB Draft over the last four years. We are proud of every player and look forward to following their hard work each week.

Alumni Spotlight #1:  Quinn Murphy (So) University of Maine

Our first New England Scorpion to be recognized is Quinn Murphy. A sophomore outfielder at the University of Maine, Murphy competes in the America East Conference and is one of seven players from our program who are playing/currently committed to Maine. Quinn began playing in our New England Scorpions program at the age of 9.

This past weekend, the Black Bears traveled to the University of Dayton for a three-game series, where Murphy made an immediate impact. He hit his first two collegiate home runs in games one and two, while also driving in four RBIs.

Through 15 games this season, Murphy is batting .348 with a 1.031 OPS, along with 3 home runs, 8 RBIs, 8 BB, a .444 on-base percentage, and a .587 slugging percentage. We are incredibly proud of Quinn and look forward to his continued success this season. #scorpnation

This past weekend, Notre Dame traveled to the University of Louisville for a three-game series, where Johnson delivered an outstanding performance. In game one, he went 3-for-5 with a grand slam, a double, and five RBIs. He added another home run in game two, before capping off the series in dominant fashion by launching two more home runs, including a grand slam, and driving in six RBIs in game three.

Johnson finished the series with an impressive stat line: .400 average, 4 home runs, 13 RBIs, and 6 runs scored, highlighted by two grand slams. We are incredibly proud of Davis and look forward to his continued success this season. #scorpnation
